Sand is the second most consumed natural resource in the World, water being first and most vital. It is estimated that around 40 to 50 billion tons of sand and gravel is used around the World annually.
Sand, gravel, rocks and minerals that are excavated from a quarry is called aggregate. Aggregate is mainly used for stable foundation of Infrastructures such as roads and transportation system (railroad tracks, airport runways, highways) and Land reclamation (Palm Island in Dubai is one of the most well-known man-made project).
